How many pictures can I expect from a session?

• Generally I create between 60 - 200 finished images per hour, but I do not make promises about the quantity of images, only the quality. The weather also dictates how many images we will get out of one shoot. For example if it is raining, you won’t get as many images out of a shoot compared to a sunny shoot. You are hiring me to pay attention to detail and capture those moments, it is hard to slap a number on it when each session will be different.

How long does a session last?

This question depends on when the shoot takes place. I will keep shooting until I feel that I’ve captured what you are after, given that we do not run out of light if it is a sunset session. Family without small children may take as little as one hour, larger families or families with small children generally take around an hour and a half to two hours as just a general timeline. Everything is custom tailored for you. I do have sessions available that tell you the session length in the package.

Will you photoshop the images?

Depending on the lighting and context of the image, I will remove some non-permanent blemishes and may slightly soften skin where it looks unnaturally rough. On portraits, I do generally photoshop faces and tweak the background to bring the focus to the client in the image(s). I may not photoshop every image though. I do give you the opportunity to choose some images you would like me to edit as well.

Where will the session take place?

Sessions always take place on-location. Depending on what style of images you like, we may shoot in your home, in a local park, a museum, or a downtown area. Any location that appeals to you, and we are legally allowed to photograph in.

How long until my images are finished?

Standard turn around time for full gallery images is 3-4 weeks. Sneak peeks I try to deliver within a week of the session. It also depends on how long the session was and how many images were taken. Rush delivery is available at an additional cost.

How far will you travel?

Travel to locations within 30 miles of the 50072 zip code is included with your session. Travel beyond that will have an extra charge per mile. I can suggest locations near me where we can take pictures as well.

What if someone gets sick, there is bad weather, or an emergency?

I make every effort to accommodate changes in schedule, keep in mind I can only reserve one date at a time per booking, so schedules will be based on my current availability at the time of rescheduling.

Can we change clothes?

Yes you can, but please keep in mind that if we are not shooting at your home or residence, that you may not have a suitable place to change. There are certain packages I offer that only allow for one outfit, so please keep that in mind when booking as well as how many outfits you want vs the package you are booking.

Are there any other fees?

No, I do not charge extra fees on all-inclusive packages. The only added fee would be traveling outside of my 35 mile radius of Earlham, IA if the session location is beyond that radius. If the session is charged per hour, expect to pay for however long the session lasts. Extra costs may include you purchasing physical prints through the gallery or added time to the session.
